Objective

The objective of this assignment was to pick on of two existing websites and redesign their homepage as we see fit. One criteria was to retain as all or as much of the original content as possible.

CarolShips

I chose to redesign the homepage for the 'Carol Ships' website as shown in the background image on the left. Carol Ships is a yearly dining event where people can have dinner aboard the Carol Ships while watching a beautiful boat light show.

MyApproach

The current website that Carol Ships has is very bright and colorful. However, the pallete for the website is overly festive for a yearly event that is supposed to be a beautiful dining experience. What I decided to do was chose a more peaceful and romantic banner image that still retained some colorful elements. I used photoshop to increase the saturation of the colors just a bit to give it a richer presenteation. I then took the body content and placed them inside their own boxes to keep the information organized and legible.
